What You’ll Learn in Accounting Courses

You’ll study all aspects of accounting including auditing, cost accounting, and individual and corporate taxation.

You’ll also hone your ability to work with accounting information systems. Accounting is a three year degree or more if you choose the traditional path. However, accelerated and flexible study programs of Fifth Elementz are available.

Also, short term, one or two-year accounting courses prepare you for a Para-Professional accounting position, assisting in auditing and tax preparation.

Course Content

  • Ability to prepare accounting statements for planning and control;
  • Ability to prepare periodic accounting reports;
  • Ability to work with managers in their use of accounting information for planning and control;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the audit process;
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment within which accounting is carried out;
  • Understanding of the business and economic framework within which accounting is carried out;
  • Awareness of the social and organizational consequences of accounting information;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of office management;
  • Knowledge and awareness of the principles of human resource management.
